A clearer view of your supplier businesses

01 Know the business.
02 Review the risk signals.
03 Monitor for change.

Identity, risk, and change across the supplier lifecycle.

Risk starts with the business

A supplier can create exposure
before an incident happens.

Travel risk programs rightly focus on destination threats and traveler safety. The businesses delivering accommodation, ground transportation, meetings, events, and local support also create operational, financial, compliance, and reputational exposure. A supplier may not be what it claims to be, may face financial trouble or sanctions, or may become insolvent while holding funds for your program.

Travel Trust Index (TTI), a product of Travel Industry Solutions, adds independent business verification to the supplier-review part of your program. Review business information before appointment and return to available checks and monitoring information throughout the relationship.

01 / IDENTITY

Start with who the business is.

Review independent business verification before you rely on a supplier. Service commitments and operational checks leave other business questions to answer, including credit risk and available screening results.

02 / VISIBILITY

See your supplier network in one view.

A dedicated network dashboard brings verification statuses across your organization’s suppliers into one view, helping your team identify information gaps and focus follow-up.

03 / CHANGE

Review what changes after onboarding.

A supplier reviewed two years ago may present different risks today. Use available screening statuses, credit risk ratings, and ongoing monitoring information to focus reassessment.

Business verification belongs alongside safety and security review.

Supplier verification & network review

Review the suppliers you use.
Consider new verified businesses.

Start with the businesses already supporting your travel program. A dedicated network dashboard brings their verification statuses together so your team can review available information and identify where follow-up is needed. You can also discover verified suppliers to consider for new requirements.

Your teams set requirements and make supplier and risk decisions. TTI provides independent business verification, credit risk ratings, and available screening and monitoring statuses to inform that work.

Know what you are reviewing

Independent checks.
Clearly identified sources.

Business verification and credit risk ratings come from an independent verification provider. Services, insurance details, booking terms, and optional self-assessments are supplied by the business.

TTI distinguishes between those sources so your team can understand what is available and what still needs to be checked.

Business information to support your own standards.

Business verification

Review the results of defined business checks.

Credit risk rating

Consider available, independently provided business credit risk ratings.

Risk signals

Review available screening statuses and items that may warrant follow-up.

Monitoring status

See whether ongoing monitoring is active, where available.

Insurance information

Review supplier-reported coverage details and certificate status.

Booking terms

Consider published terms alongside your organization’s requirements.

Available checks and monitoring vary by country and data availability. A check on one business does not automatically cover its subcontractors.

Different responsibilities. Shared information.

Support the functions that manage
travel supplier risk.

Travel supplier risk can involve several functions within businesses, government organizations, and institutions. TTI gives them a shared source of business information.

TRAVEL RISK & SECURITY

Add the supplier business to your risk review.

Consider independent business verification, credit risk ratings, and available screening statuses alongside destination, traveler, and operational risk.

ENTERPRISE & THIRD-PARTY RISK

Bring travel suppliers into third-party risk.

Bring business identity, credit risk ratings, and screening information into your existing third-party risk process and vendor management policy. Determine which suppliers need additional assessment.

COMPLIANCE & INTERNAL AUDIT

Support review of the controls in practice.

Use available verification information as an input to due diligence, governance, and assurance work. Your teams retain the records of their reviews and decisions; internal audit determines the evidence needed to assess control design and effectiveness.

PROCUREMENT & TRAVEL PROGRAM PARTNERS

Connect business checks with sourcing.

Corporate travel, procurement, and TMC teams can use the same supplier information in selection and ongoing review. Agree how responsibilities fit across your program.

TTI provides information for your risk management process. Your organization retains its own risk assessments, approval decisions, commercial relationships, and independent assurance responsibilities.

Your questions answered

What to know
before you begin.

Who is this for?

Travel risk and security leaders, together with enterprise risk, compliance, internal audit, procurement, and travel program partners involved in supplier risk. This includes businesses, government organizations, universities, other institutions, and travel businesses managing their own supplier networks.

Can we review suppliers we already work with?

Yes. Define the supplier businesses in scope and discuss countries, available checks, participation, and access with TTI. Your dedicated network dashboard supports review of available verification statuses across that agreed supplier network.

How does TTI fit with travel risk guidance and duty of care?

TTI provides business information for the supplier-review part of your travel risk program. ISO 31030:2021 provides guidance on managing risks arising from organizational travel. Using TTI does not establish conformity with that guidance or, by itself, fulfill duty of care responsibilities. Continue your destination assessments, operational and safety checks, traveler support, and emergency response planning.

Does TTI certify that a supplier is safe?

No. TTI provides defined business-check results, credit risk ratings, and available screening statuses. It does not inspect vehicles, premises, guides, or operating practices, certify safety or service quality, or guarantee that a business is financially sound. Optional safety and operations self-assessments are supplied by the business.

Does TTI satisfy a third-party risk or internal audit requirement?

No. The IIA’s Third-Party Topical Requirement, effective September 15, 2026, establishes a baseline for internal audit assurance over third-party governance, risk management, and controls. TTI does not satisfy that requirement or provide an audit opinion. Its business information can be one input to your teams’ processes and evidence, with applicability and assurance assessed by your internal audit function.

Is everything on a profile independently verified?

No. Business verification and credit risk ratings come from an independent verification provider. Services, insurance details, booking terms, and self-assessments are supplied by the business. TTI distinguishes between those sources. Available checks and monitoring vary by country and data availability.

Does TTI confirm that insurance meets our requirements?

No. Insurance information is supplier-reported. Submitted certificates are reviewed for readability and publication completeness. TTI does not confirm coverage with insurers or assess adequacy. Confirm that coverage meets your organization’s needs with the supplier.

Does verification cover subcontractors or replacement providers?

No. Verification relates to the business checked. Confirm who will actually deliver the service and what checks have been completed on that business. Discuss separately which businesses should be included in your network review.

Can buyers find suppliers that have not completed verification?

No. Suppliers must complete verification before buyers can find them in the Travel Trust Index. Discovery eligibility does not replace your organization’s supplier approval criteria.

Does using TTI move risk off our organization?

No. You set your requirements, make supplier and risk decisions, and retain your commercial relationships. TTI provides business information to support those decisions.
